Sybrand Van Der Spuy - Principal

Sybrand Van Der Spuy is proficient in setting-up, managing and directing successful military and security-related operation structures. Experienced on an International level in Military, Oil and Gas, Intelligence hospitality, Banking and Master Planning, sectors, Mr. Van Der Spuy specializes in helping institutions achieve full operational capacity through the development of structures, processes and methodical implementation. He is a Principal at Good Harbor.

Before joining Good Harbor, Mr. Van Der Spuy served as Group Director of Security for Jumeriah, Dubai. There, he provided strategic-level security advice to the Chief Security Officer and Board, operational support to Regional assets, managed new development related Security Master Planning and started-up the Jumeirah Crisis Management component.

Prior to this, Sybrand Van Der Spuy served as the Technical Director for MI-C3, a software development company with focus on wide area operational management systems. He was detached fro here to the South African Revenue Services, where he worked as a specialist advisor tasked with developing a technologically supported anti-smuggling strategy.

Mr. Van Der Spuy is formerly the owner and manager of Nonyati Consultants, a consulting and security-oriented business focused on African mining, heavy industry and related business spheres. He is a former Senior Officer in the South African Defense Force and South African National Defense Force. His 23-year military service included work in tactical and strategic leadership roles, as a qualified Special Forces Combat Operator.

Mr. Van Der Spuy is qualified at Military Staff College level and attended the South African Army College. He is a Dubai Police-Certified Security Professional and is working towards his ASIS CPP Certification.
