Good Harbor Consulting
History

Good Harbor Consulting, LLC was founded in 2002 by Good Harbor President Roger W. Cressey after he served in cyber security and counterterrorism positions in the Clinton and Bush administrations. He sought to establish a boutique consulting firm combining public and private sector knowledge and experience to develop a unique offering for government and commercial clients.

In 2003, Richard A. Clarke joined as Chairman of the firm and John S. Tritak joined as CEO. Clarke, an internationally recognized expert on security, including homeland security, national security, cyber security, and counterterrorism, has served the last three U.S. Presidents as a senior White House advisor. Prior to his 11 consecutive White House years, Clarke served for 19 years in the Pentagon, the Intelligence Community, and State Department.

Tritak is the former director of the U.S. Government's Critical Infrastructure Assurance Office (CIAO), a federal interagency organization created by presidential directive to coordinate the development and implementation of U.S. policy on securing the nation's critical infrastructures. Good Harbor leveraged the firm’s cyber security and broader security expertise to build a client base and a strategic consulting practice that gave clients a more informed understanding of the homeland and cyber markets.

Good Harbor’s original focus on risk management in the homeland security market was extended in 2005 as the firm expanded to provide risk and vulnerability consulting services for overseas clients. In 2007, Paul Kurtz joined Good Harbor as a Partner. A recognized cyber security and homeland security expert, he had previously served as Special Assistant to President Bush for Homeland Security. Previously, he had served on the National Security Council staff and in the State Department.

The firm has carefully recruited security experts from both the public and private sectors, and Good Harbor now offers a unique combination of expertise in cyber security, homeland security, critical infrastructure protection, emergency preparedness, information assurance, and investments and provides strategic advice and counsel to government and corporate clients worldwide.

Good Harbor partners with world-renowned experts and consulting firms that complement our extensive in-house security expertise and program management capabilities so we can provide our clients with specialized consulting based upon their needs. The combination of our core team and partner network positions Good Harbor as a “one-stop” shop for supporting the needs of our clients and offers proven, world-class experts who understand security issues and the dynamics between business, politics, government, and the media.
